Health Department Services

Communicable Disease Program:  Monitor infectious or contagious diseases in the county and to prevent the spread of disease to other people.

COVID:  Disease Investigation and Contact Tracing.

Family Planning/Well Woman Program:  Provide basic health services essential for the promotion of optimal health throughout a woman’s life cycle.

Sexually Transmitted Infections:  Provide prevention education, disease screening, treatment, and referral services for males and females.

Immunizations:  Provide immunizations to infants, children, and adults for vaccine preventable diseases.

Maternal & Infant Program:  Provide prenatal education and support for pregnant women. Monitoring of baby through first year of life.

Medical Assistance for Indigent/Uninsured:  Assist clients ages 0-21 years that have no medical insurance and are at or below 200% poverty level to obtain medical care.

Rabies Control:  Provide prevention education and investigate human (and domestic animal) exposure to the rabies virus.

School Health:  Provide school nursing services to promote the health of students and staff at local school on contract basis.

Teens:  Promote health and reduce the incidence of disease for all adolescents.

Tobacco Usage Prevention:  Provide anti-tobacco education and health promotion support to youth and adults.

Toenail Care:  Provide toenail care and education for foot health at Community Clinics.

WIC (Women, Infant & Children) Program:  A USDA federally funded program that provides nutrition education and food to eligible women & children.

Homecare Services:  Personal care such as bathing and toenail care and Homemaker Services such as basic house cleaning are available. Clients may qualify for assistance or may choose to pay privately for services.

Community B/P Clinics:  Clinics held on regular basis at various communities monthly. These clinics offer blood pressure screenings.
