Congratulations to Jennifer Savage

Jennifer Savage

In 1981 our President was Ronald Reagan, stamps cost 0.15, and headline news was the end of the Iranian Hostage Crisis; this is the same year Jennifer Savage was hired as our Deputy County Clerk for Wabaunsee County. She worked in this role for 19 years before running and being elected as our County Clerk in 2000. George W Bush was president, stamps cost 0.33, and we had yet to experience 9/11. That’s 20 years as our elected County Clerk and 3 months shy of 40 years of service to our County.

Jennifer announced her plans to retire and not run for office this previous year. As a general consensus, we would prefer she stay but we absolutely respect her decision. She brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position and did an outstanding job representing this county.

Whether handling elections, facilitating our transportation, or providing hunting/fishing licenses; Jennifer was always at the front of the office and available to help you. We appreciate her years of public service. Jennifer’s last day will be this January 11. Please stop by the office to wish her well this last week. Jennifer will continue her career as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician in our County and enjoy spending more time with her family and friends especially her 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 34 years of marriage to David.
